Seiko Presage Sharp Edged GMT SPB221J1

The Seiko Presage Sharp Edged GMT SPB221J1 is a tremendous watch that brings a lot of features at an incredible price point. Let's start with some basic features: an elegantly shaped 42.2mm case (lug to lug of 49.2mm), sapphire glass and 100m water resistance. So far you may be thinking OK, sounds good. But it gets better! 

Under the hood you'll find a Seiko Cal. 6R64 movement, featuring a true GMT complication with a jumping hour hand, power reserve indicator (to keep track of the 45 hour power reserve) and date hand indicator. This movement allows you to set the hour hand to set local time, independent of the GMT (24 hour) and minute hand. Also referred to as a true GMT or traveler's GMT watch. This alone is pretty rare at this price point, let alone with 2 extra complications on top!

Then the dial has a lovely Asanoha (helm) pattern dial, that gives the watch just that extra bith of aesthetical oomph, combined with very legible hands and contrasting GMT hand. 

At a first glance this model may resemble the more expensive Grand Seiko alternatives, but the biggest difference is in the more favourable price tag. All in all, a tremendous GMT watch that brings a lot of horological prowess, combined with a sleek design that will be a treasure on your wrist.
