Seiko Prospex Land Tortoise SRPH99K1 Limited Edition

You may have heard of the iconic Seiko Turtle models, part of Seiko's iconic diving model collection. But what if a watch with that case design is aimed at adventure on land? In comes the... tortoise! This model features the iconic Turtle case shape, but comes fitted with a compass bezel and a comfortable canvas/leather strap, to be more suited for conquering land. Although we do need to mention this watch can still withstand water, in fact it can deal with depths up to 200m, which is still very respectable.

The watch is built for comfort with it's 42.4mm case, 45.2mm lug to lug distance, mere 12mm thickness and crown positioned at 4 o'clock, it has all the right boxes ticked to be unobtrusive when you wear it. Other practical features include a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and an in-house produced Seiko Cal. 4R35 mechnical (automatic) movement. The Black Series come with a black coating, which provides an excellent contrast with the green Lumibrite lume. 

Whenever you change a classic design or built upon it, it makes you vulnerable to criticism and feedback. Many people love the Turtle for its rich history, comfort and just being an amazing watch. With the Tortoise Seiko took a risk, but objectively it's a great, handsome watch that will prove to be a great wrist companion in many settings.
