The Zelos Hammerhead Bronze Submarine Dial is a very cool watch. The specifications of the watch are impressive. To start, the case is made from CuSn8 bronze. Bronze has the great attribute that it builds up a layer of patina. This is an ongoing process which makes every watch unique. Discolouration is normal with this material. One major benefit is that you can largely bring back your watch in the original condition by using a Cape Cod cloth.Â
Under the hood you will find an automatic Seiko SII NH35 movement. This is a reliable Made in Japan movement, that hacks and can be wound be hand. The Hammerhead has pretty much anything you can wish for: a comfortable rubber strap (plus an extra leather strap and a canvas/leather strap), 1000m water resistance, domed sapphire glass with an AR-coating, a bronze bezel and C3. The watch itself is very comfortable. The case itself is 44mm, but the 49mm lug to lug distance ensures it will fit most wrists.
The dial is especially exceptional as it's made from steel coming from an actual US submarine.
